So, I don't know if I've missed anything, but I do not have a basic starter deck. No cards. Nothing.
And I kind of, you know, need them to duel.. help me?

No need for Starter Deck if you're playing DN.
Just find some good deck off the net if you're not good at building them.

Google a deck of your liking
go to deck constructor
search the cards
Drag and drop the cards into the appropriate area
click the A-Z button
save deck
Go enjoy your dueling

You need to be sure your play style/taste first, like:
1) Spammy decks which floods the field and possible One Turn Kills (OTK)
Hieratic, Six Samurai, Inzektor (which is still good)

2) Control the field with effects that ruins your opponent's every moves.
Frog Monarch, Chaos Control (not too dangerous now because of Sorcerer being limited), Gravekeeper, Gladiator Beast

3) A deck that's dedicated to 1 particular monster, also known as boss monster.
Lightsworn, Agent.

4) Archetype decks.
Many

5) A deck that gains field advantage real fast.
Gusto, Nimble.

5) Alternate win condition, like dealing effect damage or empty your opponent's deck ASAP OR Exodia.
Chain Burn, Stall Burn, FInal Countdown, Empty Jar, Exodia, Venominaga, Destiny Board, Destiny Leo.

Just showing few example deck types.
