StarformDragon-JOTL-JP-UR.png

Celestial Dragon

DRAGON/ LV 11/ LIGHT

ATK 3200/ DEF 2800

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
Must be Synchro Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This card's Synchro Summon cannot be negated. When Synchro Summoned, cards and effects cannot be activated. If this card attacks, this card is unaffected by other cards' effects until the end of the Damage Step.

The very first level 11 synchro in the game. I thought this card was a variant of Stardust Dragon, seeing as how his name was originally Starform Dragon and how he has a ton of protection. With this baby, Dragon Rulers have a lot more things to play with such as a Debris Dragon + any Dragon Ruler play, but this card supports other decks as well.

Not only does this guy have protection, he's a massive 3200 beatstick which can get over pretty much anything in this game. He's also LIGHT, which gives him some Honest support. What's surprising is that he only needs 1 or more non Tuner monster, so you don't have to go too minus when summoning this guy.

Discuss!

Oh, "this" dragon... the one everyone freaked about when it was revealed: "Oh, Debris and any E-Dragon make this!, zomg borked!!!11!1"

A self-protective beastick, nothing more... and even at that is kinda mediocre.

Eh, he just sounds so pleasing at first, but every time I summoned this guy, even through Chamenleon, he just has been so damn underwhelming. I mean wow, he just is so meh like all the other synchros of the set.

Awesome card in my opinion, as I have always had a soft spot for synchros. The card itself is a pretty decent beatstick but its effect pretty much guaruntees a when we it attacks. It might have been broken in other format but with stuff like E-dragons and Evilswarms running the show, the card itself won't make that much of an impact in my opinion. Will still get it for my synchro dragon collection though.

He's alright.  The most interesting thing to me about this guy is his Level.  We've never had a Level 11 Synchro before, and Level 11's for the most part are hard to Summon, and this guy (and Yubel - Terror Incarnate, but it's restricted to Yubel decks) is relatively easy to Summon.

A star in my gishki deck ^^ I use genex birdman with gishki beast, recovering a shadow or vision which will turn into a level eight ritual, then synch into this beater. I don't see how an unnegatable summon that is immune to d prison and mirror force is mediocre. This is purely a beater, and is protected as a beater. Lasting a turn or two is enough

I dare you to be here now

I don't really see how this guy can be underwhelming. His massive protection came in handy so far.

I believe he also says No to Catastor and Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon. That's gotta be worth something.

Looking at the card's art, its the size of a sun.

Yet, it has less attack than a Psychic, a Five-Headed Dragon, a 3-headed blue-eyes dragon, and a koala.

Also, the protection effect only activates if it attacks, not your enemy.

Same with Dyson Sphere. It seems being the size of a sun only grants you a certain degree of power.

I like the artwork. It's not underwhelming because it's a beatstick itself.

If this card attacks you can't use Honest.

Also Compulse loves this card.

Either way I'd like to trial this in Mecha Phantom Beasts. Veiler + 1 Plane + Token would get it, or if I had two tokens out, just one plane with a Veiler. Interesting but it's not as amazing as it first seems.

I don't really understand. What does that mean?

That he is completely vulnerable outside of him battling and summoning, hence... popular cards such as Fiendish Chain, Book of Moon and Compulsory rape this guy during the very first turn you summon him. And he is just a vanilla beastick during your opponent turn so he will be pretty much dead before your second turn.

when nothing is happening, no cards are being activated or are resolving. that is how u get around this card's effect.

Eh, he's a beatstick. There's not a lot you can ask of him, except I guess some more mileage out of the resources you're putting into a level 11 Synchro. He's a very casual card, barely hanging onto the competitive edge, but cool as fuck and the only one of its kind.

Also, to be fair to its beatsticking abilities, it might not actually be the sun it's hanging around. If it were a Brown Dwarf it would be much smaller. Though that still doesn't make much sense that the Five-Headed Dragon who was puny enough to still fit on Earth can beatstick over it. Or why it's almost matched by Gottoms, unless Gottoms is actually a cosmic entity.

Im not sure you guys are looking at the whole, it around the sun thing right. If you look at it's eff its basically an Egyptian god, except with downgraded att points and an aincient gear soldier attacking eff.

Really he is harder to get over than an egyption god since you cant discard him from the hand, mirror force wouldn't work, and he can be summoned easier than an egyption god.

THIS DRAGON HAS 1-UP'd THE EGYPTIAN gODS!!!!!

and before you say mirror force can stop it if another monster attacks, and I already know that ,but then why would the dude attack again at the chance of mirror force still possibly killing it. unless he is a *****, scrub, or n00b

God FTW!!!      My deck is my partner. It gives me the cards I need to win. Now I just have to figure out how to use them.

Wish he was Level 9, 10, or 12. Level 11 is a lot more awkward then I thought it would be. Card is really sick with all that protection built into a massive body that wrecks anything. Sadly he is also pretty much a sitting duck on the opponents turn where it's very likely he'll get popped. Still the best Synchro from Judgment of the Light, hands down
